The Innocent by Harlan Coben


Synopsis :

This is my first book by Harlan Coben.  For some reason that I am not sure of, I always thought that Harlan Coben is female. Sorry for the mistaken identity but he certainly is not. Far from it, from the author's photo at the back cover.

The Innocent is quite a good read.  I read it while on a short holiday and it was a good company for the down time in between the holiday shopping and activities.

The thrill starts rather suddenly and immediately you are thrown into the world of Matt Hunter and the world of Matt Hunter is a world full of uncertainties, terror and many questions but no answers?

Who is actually Olivia?  Who is or are the the people who tried to frame her and torture him mentally and emotionally.  Is the mystery more in the world of Matt or is Olivia the real target?

I quite like the storyline but at the same time I didn't like some of the conveniences and coincidences of the story.  However, it's something that can be overlook and when you do that, you would really find that the story's rather refreshing.

Certainly recommended as holiday read.

    I love suspense novel. Make you cannot stop reading to the end. I just finished my novel today. I blogged about it this morning.

Book Fair - 2nd Time Around Used Books

advertisement in local newspaper 2nd Time Around Used Books, a company that sells second hand books inported from the USA, is currently having a 'mega sales' in Kuching.  Called 'Book Fair Version 2.0', this is the second year they are organising such sales on a big scale. Starting from  23 July to 7 August , readers in Kuching will have a choice of thousands of titles for children, youth, novels, self help books, etc.  The books are expected to be priced around RM9.90 or slightly more or maybe even less. The organiser is also giving away vouchers for purchases above a certain amount and organising lucky draws and children's contest during this time. Be sure to check them out in Crown Square (or sometimes known as Crown Tower in Jalan Pending) from 10 am - 9 pm for these 2 weeks. I haven't had a chance to go to the sales yet but I bought these last year.  I will go and check them out maybe later today.  See you there.
