Flea Market Sales - February 2016

Image from web. Credit to the creator as stated

The last time I took part in a flea market was in October last year as I was quite occupied in the months following that.  Such, I am real excited in taking part in the forthcoming flea marketing in Green Heights Mall this weekend from 27 - 28 February.

I guess you can say I have four months worth of titles to sell and you would be quite right as I did more book spring cleaning at the end of the year.  There are titles at initially I wanted to hold on to but due to space constrain, I decided to let go...I guess if I ever want to read such titles again in future, I can always purchase it again.

So here's a preview of what I intend to bring to the flea market this weekend.

Postcard Killers by James Patterson and Liza Marklund is a title that I read not too long ago and which I have not even review yet.

The same goes for Winter Wonderland by Belinda Jones - a chic lite that I will be reviewing in posts to come.

Going to the flea market would also be A Perfect Proposal, review of which was done recently.

Ape House by Sara Gruen is an interesting read. Very appropriate in this year of monkey (according to the Chinese Calendar)

The Sinner by Tess Gerritsen which is a thriller featuring my favourite duo of Rizzoli and Isles.

I have decided to bring also (space permits) my directly-ordered-from-the states collections of Christian novels of which I have decided to let go off seven of the titles out of what I have.  There are real wholesome books, some featuring women of great faith, courage and strength.

Among them, The Accidental Bride by Denise Hunter and Sweet Sanctuary by Sheila Walsh and Cindy Martinusen Coloma are among my favourites.  I can't trust myself not to change my mind at the last minute and take them off the market!

There would be more as after this sales, my next feal market would be in a couple of months time and I am cutting down my participation this year.  See ya at GHM this weekend tentatively from 10 am to 6 pm. :)

Update : I apologise that I cancel my participation in this event due to massive flood in the city and the road leading out of where I stay was affected.  My next flea market participation should be end of April. Will inform again.  Thank you.

A Perfect Proposal by Katie Fforde

Synopsis :

Sophie Apperly's family has never taken her seriously. Fiercely academic, they see her more practical skills as frivolous whilst constantly taking advantage of her. So when her best friend Milly invites her over to New York, she jumps at the chance. It'll do her ungrateful family good to do without her for a while. What s more, she's on a quest America holds the key to solving her family's financial woes, even if they don't deserve her help.

From the moment Sophie hits the bright lights of Manhattan she's determined to enjoy every minute of her big adventure. So when an evening at an art gallery throws her into the path of Matilda, a spirited old lady who invites her to Connecticut for Thanksgiving, Sophie willingly accepts, much to the dismay of Matilda's grandson Luke. Undeniably attractive but infuriatingly arrogant, he is very protective of his grandmother and seems to doubt Sophie's motives for befriending her. No match for the formidable Matilda, he eventually admits defeat, but first he has a proposal to make. He'll help Sophie in her quest to save her family from financial ruin if she repays the favour. But just what does she have to do in return...?

It's been a while since I read this book.  Together with a few other titles, it has been sitting on my shelf waiting patiently for it's turn to be reviewed.  I must apologise as I have been having 'blocks' and not having the 'mood' to sit in front of the PC.  I must honestly say that I have been having fun watching television series from my tablet.

Anyway, A Perfect Proposal is the second book by this author that I read. The first was Love Letters read mid of last year.  I wasn't that keen on Love Letters and was such very apprehensive of A Perfect Proposal.  However, since I bought this book in a bundle with other titles, gave it a try I did and surprisingly I enjoyed this title.

Sophie was quite a sweet and charming person and maybe only because she has rather terrible family members.  However, the storyline is rather far-fetched but seeing that it's fiction, it's quite acceptable and quite entertaining.

There's nothing special about Luke but his grandmother Matilda is something else.

Overall, recommended to those romantic at heart as it's A Perfect Proposal after all.

I Will Be Back Soon....

Image from the internet.

The other day, after realizing that I have not been here for quite a while that I though I come and do some outstanding reviews but to my amazement, I was having writers block...staring at the screen and just not knowing what to write.

I rather be stringing up 'Ang Pow' packets as part of forthcoming Chinese New Year decoration, which I did in the end and I didn't feel any guilt about not writing.

What I am trying to say is that there are times I guess when I rather be doing something else instead of sharing about books that I read but I will always be back when I am ready.

So, am I ready now? I am not sure. Hahah...

Give me a bit more time.  I will be as I have a few outstanding post to complete and I mustn't forget my 2015 Reflections...better late than never.

Only Time Will Tell (Book #1 of The Clifton Chronicles) by Jeffrey Archer
